BEST WEDDING PHOTOS OF 2016

This year flew by so quickly – I have just completed my 3rd year as an Independent Professional Photographer. Each year brings new adventures, new locations and new clients that I am happy to call friends. I am so thankful to be doing what I love and honored by the wonderful clients that allow me to creatively capture their love stories.

2016 Highlights:

  • I traveled to Chicago this year.
  • I booked Weddings with couples in Wisconsin and Arizona.

Ernest and I strolled through Averill Park in Long Beach, with the Newlyweds and captured their first moments as husband and wife. Uriel bought a pink and blue cotton candy from a park vendor. The couple shared a few bites as we snapped away. It was a nice break form their busy day.  Esmeralda & Uriel, thank you for sharing your day with us. Everything was fun and casual, we could not have asked for a better couple. Thank you and your family, for making us feel so welcome!

We drove the long and windy highway 18 to Big Bear. The Smith family rented a cabin in Big Bear. It had just snowed a few nights previous, so the drive up was covered in beautiful, snowy pine trees. The cabin was surrounded by a blanket of white powder. I arrived and witnessed the family in a Snowball fight. After Gina & Josh showed me around the cabin, they posed for photos in the forest behind the cabin before stepping into the warmth of the cabin and taking photos of sleepy baby Collin, in front of the fireplace.

Baby Collin is 8 months old! I cannot believe how big he is already. I cannot get over how cute this kid is. When I met Gina and Josh at the park, Collin was already so full of excitement. Collin looked up at me and put his arms out for me to pick him up. It was simply the best greeting!

As we walked onto Blaisdell Ranch Preserve, the quiet of the clearing erupted with Maddie’s laughter, as she ran beside barking Charlie. Charlie looked like a proper gentleman with a blue bowtie on his collar. A handful of treats later, we had managed to get a couple of good photos with Charlie and moved on to capturing cute moments with Coral, Joe and Maddie. My favorite part of the shoot was capturing Maddie, dressed in her Ballet tu-tu, exploring the flower garden and looking like a fairy.

Prospect Park, in Redlands, is one of my favorite go to locations for Engagement photography. Every time I come to this park I fall more in love with it. This weekend the first flowers of spring had bloomed. I spent the afternoon getting to know Diane and Daniel, laughing and taking gorgeous photos. These two were so much fun and I can’t wait for the wedding!

He planned a beach picnic and decorated it with flowers and lanterns. At sunset Uriel Proposed to Esmeralda. He pulled out a seashell and handed it to her. Written on it were the words “Will you Marry me?” Shortly after they moved to San Luis, Arizona. In February they returned to Long Beach for their Engagement session. We strolled along the Long Beach Pike and Lighthouse, taking photos and loving life. These two are so kind and sweet together. I can’t wait to see their beautiful Vintage Mexican themed wedding coming together in April.

I met Gina and Josh at Prospect Park, in Redlands, for their Maternity Session.  We were all thankful for a sunny day, right in the middle of El Nino.  The lush green trees all around and the golden sun peaking through, created a magical atmosphere that transformed our session into a woodland fairytale – complete with the most adorable little woodland creatures crouched by Gina’s mother!  They accompanied us on our adventure through the woods. Photographing Gina and Josh was an absolute delight.

Gina & Josh welcomed their first son, Collin Michael Smith, on February 18th. Gina’s Mom crocheted an adorable little fox outfit for Collin. We placed him in a moss blanket, surrounded by flowers from Gina’s Woodland Baby Shower. My favourite photo is of Collin starting to wake up, stretching and cooing, like a little fox. It was too cute!

Christa & Weston are high school sweethearts. They resolved to stay together, even though they went to different universities. After hours of phone calls and long distance dinners, Weston had had enough. He transferred from Minnesota to Wisconsin to be close to Christa. Of course he missed his family and the friends he had made in Minnesota – so the pair traveled back for a vacation.

One evening, Weston took Christa out to the lake to watch the sunset, it was their thing. Christa took in the gorgeous view and held Weston’s had as she always did. As she turned to look at him he got down on one knee and said “I have never been more confident in what I am going to say.” Christa eeked with excitement, said yes and as they kissed, a cheer erupted from the patio where Weston’s cousins looked on. And that is how their story began, a beautiful sunset, surrounded by loved ones – a perfect start for the most deserving couple.

Thank you two so much for sharing your story and your wonderful day with me. Congratulations and many blessings to you!

Amber and Daniel were wed as the sun set at San Dimas Country Club. Pink and white flowers lined the sun soaked aisle, as the bridal party marched to the altar. The lovers exchanged rings and hearts under a whimsical canopy of Birch and Sycamore. Inside, guests greeted the pair with bubbles as they emerged as Mr. and Mrs. for the first time.  Family and friends shared stories, drinks and dances.

Ernest and I had a blast shooting Amber and Daniel’s wedding. Everyone was so kind and high-spirited. Thank you two for being so gracious and welcoming – couples like you make our jobs so easy and our lives blessed. May you have a marriage as beautiful as your Wedding!
