Arthur’s Seat wedding photos offer a stunning contrast to the medieval architecture of Edinburgh, making it a unique elopement space. This ancient volcano provides breathtaking panoramic views of the city, allowing couples to exchange vows surrounded by nature. Arthur’s Seat is ideal for couples seeking a distinctive and private elopement experience.
EDINBURGH WEDDING PHOTOS AT ARTHUR’S SEAT
Arthur’s Seat is an easy walk but make sure to bring a windbreaker because the wind in Scotland is a beast. The walk begins by St Margaret’s Loch and you’ll see St Anthony’s chapel ruins above it in the background. The ruins are the perfect spot for a private ceremony.

After the ceremony and photos, walk down to the oldest pub in Edinburgh – Sheep Head Inn dating back to 1360. There is indoor seating and a patio where you can enjoy pints and food. Grab a scone at Dr. Neil’s Garden and take a few more photos while exploring Duddingston Kirk.
If you’re contemplating taking your engagement photos at Arthur’s Seat, a prime Edinburgh elopement shoot location. While Arthur’s Seat is a popular hiking destination, there are far fewer people here at sunset than in other parts of the city, making a sunset ceremony ideal. For the popular summer months, however, I recommend a sunrise or early morning start time.
