DEAN VILLAGE ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

Erica and Jordan decided to take engagement photos in Edinburgh’s Dean Village. Edinburgh mornings can be unpredictable, this one was a bit misty and sprinkled. Luckily I have the clear umbrella ready for just this weather.

EDINBURGH ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS AT DEAN VILLAGE

Edinburgh’s most popular photo spot among locals and tourists. Dean Village was previously where milling of water mills took place. At the heart of the village is Well Court, the most iconic building in the village. This building was built in the 1880s and housed local workers who worked at the water mills. Hidden in Dean Village, you will come across a variety of mill stones and stone plaques decorated with baked bread and pies. The Dean Bridge can also be found if you walk along the walkway following the Water of Leith. The Bridge and St Bernard’s Well were both designed by Thomas Telford.

If you’re contemplating taking your engagement photos at Dean Village, a prime Edinburgh engagement shoot location. I highly recommend an early morning start time, around 7am before the tourists and local runners arrive.

After the photoshoot, enjoy a coffee and scone at Edinburgh Coffee Bike and take a short walk to browse exhibitions in Dean Gallery and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. Both buildings were previously converted and refurbished to be used as art galleries and many of their exhibitions are free.
