Annie and Sam choose the redwoods for their Big Sur Elopement photos! The pair rented a cabin in the woods to get ready with some of their closest friends and bridesmaids. I photographed their gift exchange and all of the cute moments as the group got ready together for the day. The pair met when they camped next to each other at Coachella! And share a mutual love for Harry Potter and fantasy movies.
ELOPEMENT PHOTOS IN BIG SUR
Ventana camp grounds is a beautiful ceremony site for Big Sur elopement photos. The camp grounds allow up to 10 people including me, the photographer for just $150! The light around 4pm spills through the tall trees creating a dreamy look. After their intimate ceremony under the Redwoods we drove out to a few famous roadside turnouts as the sun began to get lower in the sky. First was Great Sur Vista Point and Hurricane Point, where it was so windy that I had trouble opening my car door. But Annie and Sam were troopers and we took the cutest, windswept hair photos! Next was Bixby Creek Bridge, where Annie changed into her second dress – a more Boho look. The bridesmaids and I blocked onlookers while Sam helped Annie into her dress. And boy oh boy are the sunset Bixby Creek Bridge photos so freaking gorgeous! Finally we headed to Pacific’s Edge Restaurant for epic views with dinner. If you’re contemplating eloping in Big Sur, one of the prime California elopement shoot locations, I highly recommend starting the ceremony a few hours before sunset.
Big Sur at sunset is one of my favorite elopement shoot locations. Bixby Bridge is iconic! I am so thankful for the wonderful people that hire me and support my passion! If you are a couple or family wanting photos on your Big Sur vacation or If you’re thinking about taking Big Sur engagement photos (or pssst, if you’re looking for a romantic place to propose), I’d love to be your photographer.
