Michaelin and Dan decided to take engagement photos at Calton Hill, making all of my Scotland dreams come true! Can you believe they met because of an Edinburgh rain storm?! Michaelin turned into a local pub to hide from the rain when Dan came to her rescue with a pint! Too freaking cute! Side note, Michaelin is originally from Southern California too! Michaelin commented that Dan is always quite a dapper dresser. But Michaelin’s outfit did not disappoint, she wore a handmade leather skirt that she purchased from Joey D Edinburgh. Together the pair looked like a couple right out of the Highlands.

EDINBURGH ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS AT CALTON HILL

Calton Hill pops up right in the middle of Edinburgh and boasts 360 degree views of Edinburgh city, River Forth and Arthur’s Seat. Calton Hill is extremely busy with tourists and local sunset enthusiasts. If you’re contemplating taking your engagement photos at Calton Hill, a prime Edinburgh engagement shoot location, I highly recommend arriving at sunrise. If that is too early then I recommend any time between 8am and 11am as a start timeAccordingly, morning is the perfect time to meet at Calton Hill because the sun rises behind Arthur’s Seat, creating the most dreamy light, you’ll think you’ve stepped into the highlands! I love how the light creates a warm glow behind Nelson Monument. And if you’re lucky you’ll get a mix of clouds and sunshine leading to dramatic city views behind Dugald Stewart Monument.
