There are some wedding venues that need very little introduction. A castle with turrets, weathered stone, beautiful gardens and the kind of golden Scottish light that makes everything feel a little bit magical is always going to make a pretty spectacular backdrop.
This beautiful wedding at Culdees Castle was full of personality, romance and those little details that made the day feel completely theirs. Culdees Castle is the kind of place where you could spend hours exploring with a camera.
The castle itself creates an incredible backdrop, with its turrets, stonework and grand entrance giving portraits that unmistakable Scottish castle-wedding feeling. But rather than making the photographs feel formal, I wanted these portraits to stay relaxed and full of movement.
Some photographs feel almost editorial, while others are much more intimate and spontaneous. The contrast is what makes the gallery work so beautifully.

Then came that beautiful Scottish light.
The castle was glowing in the late afternoon sunshine, creating warm, dreamy portraits that made the whole setting feel almost cinematic. The combination of old stone, greenery and soft sunlight was pretty much a photographer’s dream.
And rather than rushing through a list of poses, we could simply make the most of it.
A walk together.
A cuddle.
A kiss.
A little dancing around in front of the castle.
Those are often the photographs that end up being favourites because they don’t feel like photographs at all. They feel like memories.

The huge hugs and tiny kisses.
All the things that make your relationship yours.
