PHOTOS AT LAGUNA BEACH
Laguna Beach is the most popular beach in Southern California and one of the best places to take engagement photos in Orange County. Laguna Beach is a small coastal city in Orange County, known for its many coves and rocky coastline with tide pools. If you’re contemplating taking your engagement photos at Laguna Beach, a prime Orange County engagement shoot location, I highly recommend picking one of my favorite beaches: Crystal Cove, Treasure Island, Corona del Mar or Arch Cove. If you want photos with that iconic California golden glow, sunset is the best time to take photos. But be warned many people love to visit these beaches, so if you want fewer people in the background of your photos, I recommend choosing a weeknight or early weekend morning.
CRYSTAL COVE ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS
Crystal Cove is my absolute favorite place to take engagement photos in Laguna Beach. It features a rocky bluff and coastline with gorgeous sunset glow and easy parking. The parking fee is $20 but well worth it because of the popularity of this beach, having a dedicated parking lot makes getting to your session so much easier. There is a permit required for this location. The fee is $100 for photography and scheduling your date at least 3 weeks in advance is a requirement. If you’re contemplating taking your Laguna Beach engagement photos at Crystal Cove, I highly recommend avoiding weekends and scheduling a weekday, specifically Monday through Thursday.
TREASURE ISLAND ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS
Treasure Island is a great place to take engagement photos in Laguna Beach. It features an overlook perfect to get those golden sun-filled photos just before sunset. There are also a lot of really unique rock formations that make your backgrounds pop. There is ample metered parking along PCH but try to avoid parking at the CVS across the street because they will tow. Be warned this location can swarm with tourists as it is right next to the Montage Resort. If you’re contemplating taking your Laguna Beach engagement photos at Treasure Island, I highly recommend avoiding weekends and scheduling a weekday, specifically Monday through Thursday.
CORONA DEL MAR ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS
Corona del Mar is a hidden gem and beautiful place to take engagement photos in Laguna Beach. It features a rocky coastline with an awesome orange kissed sunset glow and free parking. This is a really popular tourist and vacation home neighborhood, so parking near sunset can be really difficult. If you’re considering taking your engagement photos at Corona del Mar, I highly recommend scheduling a weekday, specifically Monday through Thursday.
ARCH COVE BEACH ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS
Arch Cove’s main feature is a rocky coastline cave. It is an ideal place to take family or engagement photos in Laguna Beach. There are many hotels along the beach which makes this location perfect for visiting tourists. If you aren’t visiting laguna you’ll enter the beach from the steps on Pearl Street. But like most of Laguna Beach it is extremely difficult to find parking, so I recommend you arrive about 20 minutes before your session to find a metered spot on Pearl Street, usually around 2 blocks from the beach. If you’re contemplating taking your engagement photos at Arch Cove Beach, keep in mind it is a prime Laguna Beach engagement shoot location and we may not get the location to ourselves. And if its crowded we may have to wait for some of the best backgrounds. I highly recommend scheduling a weekday, specifically Monday through Wednesday.
VICTORIA BEACH ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS
Victoria Beach’s Pirate tower is an epic place to take engagement photos in Laguna Beach. It features a rocky coastline and the iconic Pirate Tower dating back to 1926. Parking is free along PCH with a few metered parking spots. But like most of Laguna Beach it is extremely difficult, so I recommend you arrive about 45 minutes before your session to find a spot. I know that may seem excessive but the walk down to the shore is about 20 minutes, so you want to leave the other 25 to find parking. It’s also a super popular beach for photographers and instagrammers so be prepared to wait for popular spots. If you’re contemplating taking your engagement photos at Victoria Beach, a prime Laguna Beach engagement shoot location, I highly recommend avoiding weekends and scheduling a weekday, specifically Monday through Wednesday.
