If there’s one thing I know, it’s that confidence is key to amazing boudoir photos. So many women forget what it’s like to feel beautiful and strong. We get too busy with our lives, our family and our jobs. Which is why your session is designed to remind you that you are special, beautiful and desirable. I will show you how to bring out the inner model that lives inside all of us.
TIPS FOR SUCCESS
ANYONE CAN DO THIS
Anyone can do a boudoir photoshoot-single or married! You do not have to be in a relationship to do a boudoir shoot! Do it for yourself to look back on one day and remind yourself how much of a bad ass you are.
CONFIDENCE IS SEXY
If you do happen to be in a relationship, a boudoir photo session makes a great gift! BELIEVE ME your partner loves every curve of your body, that’s why they are YOUR significant other! Don’t be self conscious and don’t be nervous! Confidence is the sexiest thing in the world, so come into your shoot believing you are Beyoncé and I swear with my help you will look and feel like her in your photos!
DON’T BE NERVOUS
If you are a little nervous, that’s ok girl, you’re naked, so it’s expected. A little liquid courage is a good way to loosen up but I don’t encourage drinking and driving, as your session is only 60 minutes. And I don’t want you to feel like you need alcohol to feel comfortable.
STRIKE A POSE
Don’t know how the F to pose yourself because you are in fact not Gisele? That’s cool, I got you, that’s my job! Be prepared to feel like you did an hour long yoga class when I get done with you because posing in heels holding your breath with your back arched is no joke. But trust me when I say you are gonna look hella good in your boudoir photos!
THE WEEK BEFORE YOUR BOUDOIR PHOTOS
Make sure you shave a few days in advance so that redness, rashes, or bumps are not prevalent the day of your shoot.
I recommend getting everything (eyebrows too) waxed 3-4 days before your shoot. If you do go the waxing route do so a few days in advance. It just makes life easier and you don’t have to worry about hair for at least a few weeks! ?
Try everything on that you plan to wear for your shoot. Don’t just throw stuff in a bag and hope it fits. It will save on your time and mine. Remove all tags from outfits that you will be wearing and pack your stuff.
If you get a mani/pedi and choose to get polish, stick with a neutral color. You don’t want your nails to be a bright blue and it clash with that red outfit you wanted to wear.
If you HAVE to get a spray tan do it about a week before your shoot. Don’t do any drastic color! Orange skin does not look good! If you’ve never gotten a spray tan do a trial a month or 2 prior to your shoot. And stay out of the sun in the days before your shoot.
If you get a Facial, make sure to complete it 1.5 weeks before your session, so your skin has time to heal. Drink lots of water and Moisturize daily.
THE DAY BEFORE YOUR BOUDOIR PHOTOS
Drink tons of water. Stay away from alcohol and salt 24 hours before your shoot. Alcohol makes your eyes puffy and Salt makes you retain water.
Pack your suitcase (yes, really). I can help you narrow down your options when you arrive.
Bathe, exfoliate, & moisturize.
Touch up on any hair removal…BE CAREFUL!
Brides, Clean your Ring.
Get a good night’s sleep.
THE DAY OF YOUR BOUDOIR PHOTOS
Wear loose fitting clothes. YES, you can skip the bra! If you wear tight fitting clothes they may leave marks on your skin that will show in your pictures.
Eat something light before your shoot.
Wear clear deodorant.
If you are doing your own makeup stick with a natural look. You can look like you’re wearing makeup, just don’t overdo it.
Apply fake eye lashes, they make a HUGE difference in photos because they accentuate your eyes and give them a gorgeous almond shape.
If you are doing your own hair, I recommend loose wild curls or mermaid waves. Trade the hairspray for loose, natural looking waves with lots of volume.
