Colourful Documentary Wedding Photographer In Edinburgh

There’s this strange pressure around weddings sometimes.

Like every second needs to be perfectly planned, perfectly posed, perfectly performed.

But honestly?

The most meaningful moments almost never happen that way.

They happen in-between.

The nervous hand squeeze before the ceremony.
The uncontrollable laughter during speeches.
Your family laughing in the front row.
That burst of joy you have together right after you’re finally married.

Those are the moments that matter.

And that’s exactly why I photograph weddings the way I do.

A Relaxed Wedding Photography Experience

I’m not here to turn your wedding day into a giant photoshoot.

I’m here to help you enjoy the hell out of your day while I document it honestly, beautifully, and with a whole lot of heart.

My approach is documentary-led, which means I focus on real moments as they naturally unfold. No awkward constant posing. No pulling you away from your favourite people every five minutes. No making your day feel like a production.

Instead, I gently guide when needed, create space for natural connection, and capture the atmosphere, emotion, chaos, joy, and magic exactly as it felt.

Because years from now, I don’t want you to just remember what your wedding looked like.

I want you to remember what it felt like.

You Don’t Need To Perform For The Camera

One of the biggest things couples tell me before booking is:

“We’re awkward in photos.”

And honestly? Almost everyone says that.

You do not need to know how to pose or perform to have incredible wedding photos.

You just need to be yourselves and have fun.

Couples tell me I help them feel comfortable, relaxed, and fully present so photos feel natural instead of forced.

We’re going to laugh a lot!

I want you crying during your vows.
I want you on the dance floor losing your minds to your favourite songs.
I want you laughing all day long.

Not worrying about whether your hands look weird.

Documentary Wedding Photography With A Little Bit Of Magic

While most of the day is captured candidly, I’ll still give you gentle direction when it’s helpful.

Think movement over stiff posing.
Prompts over perfection.
Real connection over curated moments.

I’ll step in when the light is incredible or when you need a breather together for ten minutes at golden hour. But I’ll never interrupt meaningful moments just to create something staged. Expect gentle guidance when you need it and space when you don’t.

Your wedding isn’t a styled photo shoot.

It’s your story.

And the best photos happen when you’re fully inside it.

Weddings In Edinburgh & Beyond

Edinburgh is one of the most magical places in the world to get married.

From historic City Chambers weddings to candlelit venues tucked down cobbled closes, windswept cliffs, castle views, and cosy pub receptions — this city has a kind of cinematic romance that never gets old.

But no matter where your wedding takes place, what matters most is how the day feels.

Whether you’re planning:

  • an intimate elopement in the Highlands
  • a colourful city wedding in Edinburgh
  • a relaxed countryside celebration
  • or a wildly fun party with all your favourite humans

I’m there to document the honest stuff.

The big feelings.
The little moments.
The beautifully imperfect magic of it all.

A Photographer Who Feels Like A Friend

One of the things I care about most is helping people feel safe, celebrated, and genuinely comfortable around me.

I’ll probably end up chatting with your guests, hyping you up during portraits, crying during your ceremony, and cheering on your dance floor antics by the end of the night.

Because I care deeply about the people I photograph.

Your wedding isn’t just another booking to me.

It’s a collection of once-in-a-lifetime moments entrusted into my hands.

And I don’t take that lightly.
